Engine & Tower respond to Dist 2 Garage Fire

At 1441 hours Taskforce 821 was dispatched to the 300 block of Keystone Ave in Gloucester Township for a reported building fire. 8204 (Captain Haines) was on scene with a brush fire extending into a shed/garage. Tower 84 with a crew of 4 arrived as the First Due Truck Company and was ordered to force entry into the structure. Engine 842 with a crew of 5 arrived as the Second Due Engine Company and stretched a back up line through the rear. The fire was quickly placed under control. Crews operated for just about 90 mins before being released.

No injuries were reported, this fire is under investigation by the local fire marshal.

Commercial Vehicle Accident on ACE

While returning from a training class, Rescue 84 was monitoring County Radio and heard an accident dispatched on Route 42 at the Atlantic City Expressway. After hearing the report, Rescue 84 with a crew of 4 responded to assist. The crew arrived and provided a blocking position for the other crews on scene. Rescue 84 was on location for about 15 minutes before being released.

This accident is under investigation of the NJ State Police.

Keeping Busy in Blackwood

Another Busy Afternoon in Blackwood:

Just after 5 pm Engine 84 was dispatched northbound with Engine 93 southbound to exit 12 on Route 42 for a vehicle fire. Quint 946 arrived with a vehicle well involved on the off ramp and went into fire suppression. Engine 842 with a crew of three responded and stood by.

After returning from the car fire, Taskforce 84 was alerted to a dwelling fire in the the Blackwood estates. Tower 84 arrived first due with nothing evident and conducted the investigation. Crews narrowed it down to an electrical issue and went available shortly after.

Engine & Tower Respond to District 3 Four Alarm Fire

At 0333 hrs Taskforce 83 was dispatched to the Howard Johnson Inn on the Blackhorse Pike for a reported building fire. Engine 88 reported at 1/4 mile away they had visible fire and struck the second alarm, Engine 88 arrived shortly after and confirmed their report. Engine 842 responded with a crew of 5, arrived third due, and established a primary water supply. Tower 84 arrived as the fourth due truck company, and went up to the roof to ventilate.

The fire was placed under control in just 2 hours and crews operated for just under 4 hours. In all 4 Alarms were struck.

No injuries were reported to any civilians or first responders.

Engine 842 responds to Box 863

At 1141 hours Taskforce 863 was dispatched to the Wye Oak Section of Gloucester Twp for a reported dwelling. Engine 842 responded with a crew of 4 and arrived third due. The crew assisted in opening up ceilings below the fire, as well as checking for extension.

The fire was quickly brought under control, with no injuries reported to any civilians or first responders.

While on scene 842s crew responded to a fire alarm activation in Pine Hill, which was found to be a malicious activation, after clearing that the engine returned to the Fire Ground.

Rescue Responds to Reported Entrapment

At 1631 hours Rescue 84, Engine 88, Rescue 82, Squad 86, BLS & ALS were dispatched to the area of the Dave & Busters on Premium Outlets Dr for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. Rescue 84 & Engine 88 arrived simultaneously with BLS and confirmed a vehicle into a pole with one occupant attempting to self-extricate. Crews confirmed the occupant was not trapped and the assignment was held to 84 & 88. Crews assisted EMS with removal of the occupant.

This accident is currently under investigation by GTPD.

Engine Responds to Washington Township

At 1622 hours Station 84 was dispatched to the Washington Way Apartments in Wash Twp for a reported Apartment Fire. First arriving companies found fire showing from the second floor and went to work. Engine 842 arrived and dropped approximately 300’ of supply line to secure a secondary water supply. The crew then went to the second floor to assist in overhaul and ventilation. The fire was quickly placed under control.

No injuries were reported, this fire is under investigation by the local fire marshal

Working Fire in District 6

At 0230 Engine 842 responded on Taskforce Box 863 for a Working Dwelling Fire. 8602 (DC Brown) arrived first with smoke showing and requested the assignment be upgraded. Engine 62 arrived as the first due engine and began fire attack. Engine 842 arrived as the 4th due engine and was assigned to overhaul. Crews operated for 2 hours before being released. No injuries were reported.

This fire is under investigation by the local fire marshal.
