Join the Blackwood Fire Company as we celebrate our 33rd Annual Christmas Parade
There is no theme this year.
In the spirit of the season, we invite you to join us on Saturday night December 3rd 2022 At 1800 hours.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Davistown Rd and the Black Horse Pike then proceed North to Church Street and then to the Blackwood Fire Company.
There is no theme which should allow everyone to be unique. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded in the following categories:
Theme: 40% / Decorations: 60%
Best Decorated Fire Engine 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Best Decorated Ladder or Aerial 1st, 2nd
Best Decorated Rescue / Squad Company 1st, 2nd
Best Decorated Ambulance 1st, 2nd
Theme:30% / Decorations: 50% / Presentation: 20%
Best Decorated Float other than Fire Company / Auxiliary (**) 1st, 2nd
Best Decorated Fire Company / Auxiliary Float (**) 1st, 2nd
Judges Award Total of 4 Best Appearing Community Group (**) 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Best Performing High School Band (*) 1st only
Best Overall in the Parade receives the 1st Annual Chief Charlie Miller award

Each unit may stop at the judges area for review:
Mobile Units (30 seconds) Marching or Float Presentation (2 minutes)
Judging will be done by the NJ State Fire Chief’s Judging Association (The judges’ decision if final!!)

Following the parade, everyone is invited to attend the Open House with Santa at the Blackwood Fire Company until 9:00 pm. Below is an itinerary of the evening’s festivities: 4:00 – 6:00 p.m ALL UNITS must register at the C.W. Lewis Middle School (Use the Entrance off Erial Road) Participants will be given details for staging at the time of registration. All companies will be lined up in the order they arrive. 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. The Parade will proceed North on the Black Horse Pike from Davistown Road to Church Street. Following the conclusion of the paradeOpen House with Santa at the Blackwood Fire Company. Hot Chocolate and Cookies provided.
To ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable time, we ask that all participants adhere to the following rules:
1. No audible warning devices (sirens or air horns) during the parade.
2. No unauthorized radio transmissions on emergency radio frequencies.
3. NO alcohol in the line of march.
4. No throwing of candy, etc. from moving vehicles. If you plan on giving candy out please have personnel to do so safely so the children watching don’t run out into the street.
5. Any animals in the line of march MUST have a cleanup person directly behind the animal. Please be considerate of the other marchers!!!!
ANYONE FOUND VIOLATING THE ABOVE MENTIONED RULES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PARADE AND WILL NOT BE ELLIGIBLE FOR ANY AWARDS.
It is strongly recommended that all participating emergency units be placed out of service during the parade. If it is absolutely necessary to leave the line of march to an emergency incident, we ask that you utilize a route of travel other than the parade route, and that you use EXTREME caution until well away from the area. Remember that there are many pedestrians in the areas, including many small children, responding units should contact “PARADE COMMAND” via Camden County West-Tac 2, so the proper information may be disseminated to traffic control personnel to assist you with your departure.
