Last night just after 10pm Taskforce 84 was alerted to a reported apartment fire in the cherrywood complex. Responding units were advised by County Communications that they were receiving multiple calls and had reported occupants trapped. Engine 88 (Gloucester Twp. Engine 88) arrived within minutes to find smoke showing from the second floor, and initiated fire suppression and rescue operations. Tower 84 arrived as the first due truck company and laddered the structure, while Squad 85 assisted in establishing water supply. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the scene was placed under control in about 40 minutes.
One occupant was removed by E88s crew and transported to the hospital for burns.
Engine 841, Rescue 84, and Support 849 also responded and provided manpower.
