The Blackwood Fire Company would like to congratulate PFF Matthew Kemery on his completion of the firefighter 1 program at the Camden County Emergency Training Center. Today PFF Kemery and 50 other fellow firefighters graduated after 180 hours of lecture and hands on learning. PFF Kemery also was awarded the James E Sylvester award for academic excellence. Congratulations Matt and never stop learning!!
Rollover-MVC on Rt 42
Just before 6 o’clock this morning Rescue 84, Engine 82, Engine 88 (Gloucester Twp. Engine 88), Squad 86 (Gloucester Township Fire District 6), and BLS 80 were dispatched to NJ Rt. 42 South for a Motor Vehicle Crash with a reported person trapped. First arriving crews found a single vehicle rollover accident. Engine 88 arrived and began stabilizing the vehicle and extricating the driver, while Rescue 84 safed the battery, and Engine 82 assisted both crews with both tasks. With quick work by all crews, the driver was freed within minutes with minor injuries.
This accident is under investigation by the NJSP.

Active Chimney Fire in the First Due
A few minutes after 5pm TaskForce 84 was alerted to the 300 block of State St in the Blackwood Section of Glo. Twp. for a reported dwelling fire. Tower 84 was first due and found a small chimney fire upon investigation. The fire was contained to the fireplace with minimal damage to the residence. Mutual aid companies from Stations 82, 86, 85, & Engine 88 were also on scene and assisted in extinguishing the fire.
No injuries were reported.
This fire is under investigation by the local fire marshal.

Joint-Township Drill
Tonight the members of Blackwood Fire Company joined together with our neighboring companies, GTFD6, Chews Landing, Blenheim Fire Company, Pine Hill Fire Department for some much needed and important training on air monitoring presented by Deputy Chief Brown. This training presented is meant for all levels to understand the dangers of natural gas and CO and how to be safe when responding to these type of calls. Thank you GTFD 6 and Deputy Chief Brown for presenting and feeding all of us!
Motor Vehicle Crash w/ Fire
Just before midnight, Rescue 84 and Engine 88 were dispatched to Blackwood Clementon Rd in front of the old Denny’s for a motor vehicle accident. While responding companies were advised of a two car crash with one vehicle to be on fire. Engine 88 arrived to confirm the report, and immediately stretched an attack line. Rescue 84 arrived right behind the engine and assisted in fire suppression and safeing the one vehicle. Squad 86 (GTFD6) responded to the scene to assist with Water supply. The fire was placed under control a short time later and crews returned to service.
No injuries were reported.
This crash is under investigation by the GTPD.
New Lounge Dedicated to Life Member
Tonight at our Monthly Business Meeting, The Blackwood Fire Company dedicated our newly renovated lounge to Life Member Walt Spain. Walt has been a member of Station 84 for over 50+ years. This is just a small token of our great appreciation for his dedicated service to not only the Blackwood Fire Company but also to the Citizens of Blackwood NJ.

Blackwood Fire Company's 31st Annual Christmas Parade
Come join us as we celebrate the joy of Chirstmas on Saturday December 7th at 6pm. The parade will start from Davistown Road and the Black Horse Pike, traveling North to through downtown Blackwood to Church Street. Afterwards feel free to sptop in and visit Santa, get some hot chocolate and cookies.
For those who wish to participate in the parade, there is no pre-registration, you can register that night at the C.W. Lewis School on Erial Road starting at 5pm.
What we do ask is that anyone participating please bring 1 unwrapped box of Lego’s to be donated to CHOP in memory of Nico Cassabria.
